Dove issues apology after ad flak, model thinks the whole campaign is “misrepresented”

Global beauty brand Dove has recently released an apology following the backlash garnered by their allegedly “racially-insensitive” advertisement. In a statement released through social networking site Twitter, the company claimed full responsibility for the ad and admitting that they have “gotten it wrong”. “The short video was intended to convey that Dove Body Wash is for every woman and be a celebration of diversity, but we got it wrong. It did not represent the diversity of real beauty which is something Dove is passionate about, and is core to our beliefs, and it should not have happened,” the company said.
